Ever tried to attach PDF documents to an email and your email freezes?
I’m sure you probably spent a significant amount of time crafting that perfect email….
———————
Spell-checked, grammar checked, proofread and ready to send. So you rush to attach the PDF file that you want the person on the other end of the email to see. Then…..NOTHING!
The screen freezes and after several minutes you’re wondering, “what the heck happened to my email, and why is my screen white?” Have no fear, TekTime IT is here. What you have been experiencing, other than sheer frustration from this problem (as I have), is a corrupt installation of Adobe Reader.
When you have a corruption issue, sometimes attaching PDF files to an email will complete successfully, while other times will render the email client or browser unresponsive, “white”and quick to delete whatever you typed.
You can try to attach other types of files such as pictures and documents, and you’ll notice that you can attach these files without the same email attachment problems. The problem must be related to the PDF file or the software that supports it — Right? Of course.
To fix this annoyance and email in peace, follow these instructions!
—-
1.) Go to uninstall programs or add/remove programs, then click on the application: Adobe Reader
2.) Right click the mouse and choose uninstall
3.) Allow the program to uninstall
4.) After the process is complete, download the most current version of Adobe Reader
5.) Click here to download the most updated version of Reader directly from Adobe
6.) Install the recently downloaded version of AdobeĀ Reader
7.) Try attaching a PDF file to the email and it should work as
intended
Now, to fix any other email attachment problems that you may be having, feel free to contact me or leave a comment here!
